No Frills Grill as we now know it has been growing and expanding over the past 20 years. A man named Mark Wright opened the original Little Rd location 1990 he was an owner of the Lone Star Oyster bar chain and had wanted to branch out on his own. The original bar and restaurant was 20 ft wide and 70 ft long. The floors were concrete, as they are today, and the bar was decorated with various odds and ends. After a few months Mark expanded into the place next door and added room for pool tables and a dartboard. He sold the store after a year to Bill and Lynetta Thomas , who added the first satellite boxes and turned the place into more of a family friendly sports bar. They ran the business for 3 years before selling No Frills to the current owners Gregg and Nancy Wilkinson. Newcomers to the restaurant business, what they lacked in experience they more than made up for in effort. They kept adding more televisions and more square footage until 2007 when it reached its current state. Gregg took great care to preserve the feel of the old place while adding sports memorabilia and expanding the menu. The final tally for their improvements was over 100 televisions, 20 satellite boxes , a large smoking patio, and a giant game room for the kids. It has definitely been a journey for the little bar that used to only seat 10 people.
In March of 2000 a second location was opened off Eastchase Pkwy in Fort Worth. It is much like the original location with 45 televisions, all the sports packages and a full service bar. David Lovelace opened the store and had been with No Frills since 1991 and was General Manager of Little Rd for 5 years before opening up the new store. This location was expanded and updated during the summer of 2010.
No Frills Grill in Mansfield opened October 2003 as the partnership between Gregg and Nancy and her brother and sister-n-law, Chris and Karen Powell. Over the past 6 years it has received many awards from the local public including Best Sports Bar, Best Burger, Best place to take a date, etc.
In the spring of 2006 the fourth location opened in the city of Keller. This smaller location was further away from the other 3 stores, but was quickly embraced by the city.
